Getting to Lithuania & Wedding Transportation
Arrival in Lithuania
The easiest way to join us is to fly into Vilnius International Airport (VNO).
The airport is conveniently located close to Vilnius city centre - depending on traffic, the journey takes approximately 15–20 minutes by taxi.
We recommend arriving in Vilnius at least one day before the wedding, so you can settle in, enjoy the city and have a relaxed start to the celebrations.
📍 Vilnius → Trakai
Trakai is located approximately 30 km from Vilnius and the journey usually takes around 35–45 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
It’s a beautiful historic town surrounded by lakes and is well worth a visit if you have some extra time during your stay in Lithuania.
Vilnius → Margio Krantas
Our wedding celebration will take place at Margio Krantas, in the peaceful countryside near Trakai.
From Vilnius, the journey to Margio Krantas takes approximately 45–60 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
🚌 Wedding Day Transportation - August 7th
You won’t need to worry about arranging your own transportation to the wedding venue. On August 7th, we will organise buses for our guests from Vilnius.
The buses will remain available at the church, so you’ll be able to leave your luggage safely on the bus before the ceremony.
After the ceremony, everyone will travel together by bus directly to Margio Krantas, where the celebration and overnight stay will take place.
Exact departure points and times in Vilnius will be shared with you closer to the wedding.
The Next Day - August 8th
On the following day, organised guest transportation will leave Margio Krantas at approximately 12:00, taking everyone back to Vilnius.
The journey should take approximately an hour, so we expect to arrive in central Vilnius at around 13:00–13:30, depending on traffic.
We are also considering a relaxed afternoon picnic in Vilnius for those who would like to spend a little more time together before heading home.
If you would like to join us, we recommend keeping the afternoon of August 8th free and, where possible, booking a later flight home.
More detailed transportation information will be shared closer to the wedding.
Where to Stay & Getting Around Vilnius
Vilnius has plenty of accommodation options, from hotels and boutique guesthouses to private apartments.
For the easiest access to the city and our organised wedding transportation, we recommend looking for accommodation in or around Vilnius Old Town (Senamiestis) or the City Centre (Naujamiestis / Centre).
The most popular places to search and book accommodation are Booking.com and Airbnb. There are plenty of options within walking distance of the Old Town, restaurants, cafés and the main sights.
We recommend booking your accommodation in advance, especially if you would like to stay in the Old Town.
Getting Around & Car Sharing
If you would like to explore Vilnius for a short trips independently before or after the wedding, you don’t necessarily need to rent a traditional car for your entire stay.
Vilnius has several very convenient car-sharing services, including CityBee, Bolt Drive and SPARK. You’ll find these cars all around the city, and usually plenty of them near Vilnius Airport as well.
The concept is very simple: you register through the company’s app, find an available car nearby, reserve it and unlock it directly through your phone once you reach the car. There is no traditional rental desk or key collection.
This can be especially convenient for spontaneous personal trips - for example, visiting Trakai, exploring areas outside central Vilnius or simply having a car for a few hours when you need one.
Because there are so many shared cars around Vilnius, you don’t necessarily need to rent a car at the airport and keep it for your entire trip.
Please make sure to download the relevant app and complete your registration and driving licence verification in advance, as requirements may vary depending on your country of residence.
🔑 Traditional Car Rental
If you prefer to have your own car for your entire stay in Lithuania, a traditional rental may be the better option.
GBY and ADMITA are two local car rental companies we can recommend as reliable options.

A full rental can make sense if you are planning to travel beyond Vilnius and Trakai or explore more of Lithuania before or after the wedding.
For the wedding day itself, however, you won’t need a car - organised transportation will be provided from Vilnius to the ceremony, then to Margio Krantas, and back to Vilnius the following day.
